Force Recruitment has partnered with a leading contract manufacturing company that specialises in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry to hire a Global Laboratory Specialist on a full time, permanent basis. This person will is responsible for overseeing global site laboratory equipment harmonization and qualification programs. This role involves collaboration with various teams, such as Quality and Facilities Engineering teams in Ireland and on a Global scale. This role would suit someone coming from a laboratory background, with hands on experience of metrology and instrumentation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Providing SME support.
  • Procurement of new equipment and technology, ensuring the lab is up to date with all new lab technologies available, and deployment of same.
  • Training staff how to use new equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and carrying out basic repairs.
  • Ensuring preventative maintenance is being performed.
  • Alignment of annual Installation Qualifications and Calibrations.
  • Collaborating with site teams on laboratory projects, to maintain expand and improve current facilities.
  • Working to achieve harmonization across global laboratories.
  • Involvement in annual budget preparation.
  • Preparation of controlled instrument documents such as investigations, work instructions, and SOP’s.
  • Working with suppliers and vendors.
  • Assisting in Audits.
  • Ensuring the site is in compliance with cGMP regulations.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • BSc in a relevant field.
  • 5 + years’ experience in laboratory based roles.
  • Experience in the use, maintenance, and repair on analytical instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of calibration accuracy testing requirements and metrology.
  • Understanding of regulatory guidelines such as ISO, USP and GMP.
  • Strong project and people management skills.
