Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to take a lead role in designing advanced mechatronic equipment. This position requires strong expertise in SolidWorks, robotics, servo systems, pneumatics, and more. You will be the key point of contact for customers, managing design reviews and project progress updates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design mechatronic equipment using SolidWorks in a PDM environment, integrating robotics, servo systems, pneumatics, transfer systems, vision, and machine guarding.
• Act as the primary contact for customers, scheduling design reviews and providing project updates.
• Design pneumatic circuit schematics (desirable).
• Ability to work hands-on when needed.
• Generate 2D part drawings, select materials, and coordinate with machine shops for bespoke machined parts.
• Collaborate on risk assessments and ensure compliance with CE documentation and technical files.
• Translate customer URS (User Requirement Specifications) into design specifications and oversee execution through IQ, OQ, PQ validation protocols.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in conveyors and/or robotics.
• Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English (written & spoken) with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid full EEA driving license for nationwide travel to customer sites.
• Full working status in Ireland is required.
