Position: Medical Representative Hospital Sales (Ocular Surface)
Territory: North Leinster Region & West of Ireland (North Dublin, Meath, West Meath, Louth, Cavan, Roscommon, Longford, Leitrim, Offaly, Clare, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Donegal)
Reports to: Sales Manager

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly successful and reputable sales representative who can build and maintain key customer relationships within Ophthalmology. The successful candidate will identify opportunities, maintain and grow business across their territory, and build extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

This is a sales role across the following disciplines:

  • Hospital Ophthalmology: Detailing Ophthalmologists and their teams on the range of Ocular Surface products
  • Community Ophthalmology

Qualification

  • 3rd Level degree in an appropriate science or business discipline is desirable but not essential.

Experience

  • 5 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical sales role
  • At least two years’ experience in Ophthalmology is desirable

Specific Requirements

  • Full, clean driving license
  • MRII Full Membership is desirable

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifying and establishing new business.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with ophthalmic healthcare professionals.
  • Analyzing and interpreting sales data to devise a territory sales plan in line with company and brand strategies.
  • Detailing or presenting products to healthcare staff in a clinic or virtual setting.
  • Learning and communicating clearly all relevant product and disease area knowledge.
  • Convincing and influencing customers about the benefits of the products.
  • Reaching and exceeding quarterly sales targets.
  • Staying updated with the latest clinical data in Ophthalmology, interpreting, presenting, and detailing this data with healthcare professionals.
  • Attending and organizing trade exhibitions, conferences, meetings, and webinars.
  • National and international travel will be part of this role.
  • Working as part of a successful team to ensure the best outcomes for everyone.
  • Sharing best practices and knowledge with the sales team.
  • Monitoring competitor activity and products.
