Procurement Manager

Job description

Purpose of the Role

Responsible for sourcing, contracting, and managing assigned CMO suppliers with an annual budget of approximately $60-70 million USD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage assigned CMO accounts to enhance cost, quality, and service in alignment with business expectations.

  • Define and implement annual savings targets linked to assigned suppliers.

  • Establish and implement short- and long-term savings pipelines through strategic sourcing initiatives (SSI).

  • Collaborate with site procurement teams to identify regional synergies and unlock supplier/product value.

  • Build leverage and develop sourcing strategies with key global, regional, and local suppliers.

  • Develop and maintain a network of CMOs to maximize the value derived from these relationships.

  • Engage early in potential new business development and licensing (BD&L) deals and R&D projects.

  • Evaluate the product base and design re-sourcing strategies (e.g., insourcing, transfer).

  • Act as the supplier lead for Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) on a global scale.

  • Provide business intelligence support, including market screening, benchmarking, and industry insights.

  • Support the global procurement strategy and methodologies.

  • Identify and develop stakeholder relationships to expand procurement integration.

  • Build and maintain visibility of CMO-wide spending.

  • Negotiate supply contracts and monitor performance against contractual commitments throughout the contract lifecycle.

  • Develop and manage the RFI/RFP process as part of the negotiation cycle.

  • Identify, implement, and track cost-saving projects in collaboration with site stakeholders, site controllers, and regional finance teams.

  • Coordinate supplier implementation and follow-ups with site buyers and stakeholders.

  • Comply with quality policies for vendor evaluation, selection, and approval.

  • Drive compliance with procurement processes, procedures, and best practice initiatives.

Qualifications

  • BA/MSc or equivalent.

  • CIPS/NEVI or equivalent certification.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills.

  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical and medical device industry.
