Job description
Job Title: Inventory & Planning Supervisor
Location: Shannon
Position Overview: Our Client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Inventory & Planning Supervisor to join their team. This key role is responsible for managing and optimising inventory and planning processes to ensure the timely availability of materials and products. The position aims to minimize excess stock, reduce costs, and improve overall supply chain efficiency. The Inventory & Planning Supervisor will collaborate closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to forecast demand, streamline inventory management, and drive improvements in operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management
- Oversee inventory levels and ensure accurate stock levels across all locations.
- Perform regular inventory audits and reconcile physical stock with system records.
- Monitor and manage stock rotation to reduce obsolete or expired stock.
- Implement and maintain stock control policies to prevent overstocking or stockouts.

Operations Forecasting & Planning
- Collaborate with sales and production teams to understand demand patterns and develop accurate forecasts.
- Develop and manage production and procurement plans based on demand forecasts.
- Adjust planning strategies as necessary to address fluctuations in demand or supply chain disruptions.

Supply Chain Coordination
- Work closely with procurement, logistics, and production teams to ensure timely material availability and alignment with production schedules.
- Monitor supplier lead times and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Address any supply chain issues or delays that could impact inventory levels or production schedules.

Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare regular reports on inventory performance, stock levels, and turnover rates.
- Analyse inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements to processes.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as stock accuracy and demand forecasting accuracy.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management, procurement, and planning.
- Implement best practices and system improvements to optimize inventory flow and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve supply chain efficiency.
Qualifications & Abilities Required:
- Certification in inventory management or planning (e.g., APICS CPIM or equivalent).
- 3+ years of experience in inventory management, planning, or supply chain roles.
- Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or similar).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of forecasting techniques and inventory control systems.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and integrated supply chain software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
