Product Application Specialist

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Deliver training and technical support to customers and the internal sales team on relevant IVD products through demonstrations, evaluations, and well-structured trials.

  • Act as the primary technical contact for application-related inquiries within the IVD portfolio, supporting both customers and the sales division.

  • Respond promptly to technical questions and product feedback from both customers and internal teams.

  • Collaborate with marketing to help shape and refine the IVD product messaging and effectively communicate value propositions to partners.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on the full IVD product range and emerging diagnostic technologies, particularly direct diagnostic solutions.

  • Attend, organise, and report on exhibitions, workshops, and related events as needed.

  • Contribute to tender submissions by coordinating all product-specific technical documentation and details in collaboration with the sales and tender teams.

  • Provide remote and onsite technical support to customers, as well as internal departments including sales and service teams.

  • Work in tandem with the engineering team to align technical solutions with customer requirements.

  • Ensure proper complaint handling and documentation in accordance with internal quality systems.

  • Help maintain high levels of customer satisfaction in line with company standards and expectations.

  • Support special projects, such as system installations and validation (e.g., IOQ).

  • Stay informed on innovations and developments within the IVD sector and support onboarding processes for potential new supplier partnerships.

  • Liaise with internal teams and external collaborators to maintain excellent customer service.

  • Participate in evaluating new business partnerships alongside management.

  • Assist in developing and executing go-to-market strategies for new product or agency launches, working closely with commercial leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A degree or higher in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or related discipline.

  • Strong background in the IVD industry (e.g. molecular diagnostics, blood transfusion) in a clinical or commercial environment is a strong advantage.

  • Demonstrated passion for science and innovation.

  • Solid understanding of laboratory operations and quality regulations, particularly ISO15189 and ISO17025.

  • Proficiency in IT systems; experience interfacing diagnostic platforms with LIS systems is highly desirable.

  • Results-driven mindset with a strong work ethic and ability to meet objectives.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to communicate technical information clearly to both internal stakeholders and customers.

  • Excellent time management, planning, and organisational abilities.

  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to meet goals and deadlines.

  • Willingness to follow company policies and procedures.

  • Full driving license required.

  • Occasional international travel may be necessary.
