Job description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This entry-level position is ideal for a recent graduate who is eager to start their career in accounting and finance. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day financial transactions, maintain accurate financial records, and support the finance team in ensuring the smooth running of the department.
Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Assist in processing invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.
- Help in reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies.
- Support the team in managing accounts receivable, including processing customer payments and following up on outstanding invoices.

Bank Reconciliation:
- Assist in reconciling company bank statements with accounting records.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.

Data Entry:
- Accurately input financial data into accounting systems.
- Maintain and update financial records, ensuring they are complete and organized.

Financial Reporting:
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support the finance team in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

General Ledger Maintenance:
- Assist in maintaining the general ledger by posting and verifying journal entries.
- Help in ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded and classified.

Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed, including filing, answering queries, and assisting with audits.

Learning and Development:
- Take initiative in learning new accounting practices and tools.
- Attend relevant training sessions and workshops to enhance accounting knowledge and skills.
Qualifications and Skills:

Education:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Technical Skills:
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) is a plus but not required.

- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
