Reliability Modelling Engineer

Job description

Reliability Modelling Engineer
Location: UK and Ireland (Remote Working)
My client, a leading asset management, maintenance, and reliability engineering consultancy and training services company is recruiting for a Reliability Modelling Engineer. With offices in the UK and Ireland, and guided by our ReliabilityFocus™ framework, we help clients achieve long-term sustainable reliability to enhance operational performance and maximize business potential.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Reliability Modelling Engineer who shares their passion for reliability, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. This role is a critical part of their engineering team, supporting the development and optimisation of asset maintenance strategies through advanced asset reliability modelling.
As a Reliability Modelling Engineer, you will play a key role in conducting advanced reliability studies using industry-leading asset reliability modelling software. The role supports the reliability engineering business by delivering detailed analytical assessments and simulations that drive operational improvements for their clients. Key responsibilities include developing reliability models in support of:
  • Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) studies
  • Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) studies

While their primary modelling tool is Isograph Availability Workbench, they welcome applications from candidates experienced with other leading reliability software applications such as ReliaSoft, ProAIM, and similar.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop reliability models to analyse system performance and failure risks.
  • Conduct RAM studies to assess system availability and optimize asset lifecycle performance.
  • Conduct RCM and FMECA studies to identify failure modes and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs) to model plant reliability and maintenance strategies.
  • Identify and define proactive maintenance tasks and develop associated work instructions.
  • Support clients in optimising their asset strategies through reliability-based decision-making.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality expectations.
  • Document findings and recommendations in clear, actionable reports and presentations.

Key Skills & Attributes
  • Strong technical expertise in reliability engineering principles and methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with reliability modelling software (Isograph, ReliaSoft, ProAIM, etc.).
  • Ability to contribute to RCM, FMECA, and RAM workshops effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate system failures and optimise asset performance.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and process technologies.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously while also contributing to team objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, optimization, and innovation.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of reliability modelling experience within industries such as oil & gas, energy, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, or manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated, hands-on expertise in reliability modelling, RAM analysis, RCM, and FMECA implementation.
  • Proven experience in using and applying leading reliability software tools.
  • Strong background in mechanical, electrical, or process engineering.
  • Engineering degree (or equivalent technical trade qualification) with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Formal Reliability Engineering training/certification preferred.
  • RCM training/certification is desirable.
  • CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) or CRL (Certified Reliability Leader) certification is a plus.

Why Join?
  • Opportunity to work with industry-leading clients and cutting-edge reliability technologies.
  • Be part of a growing, dynamic, and collaborative team.
  • Contribute to high-impact projects that enhance asset performance and business success.
  • Competitive salary and flexible remote working opportunities.
  • Ongoing professional development, training, and career progression.
