Territory Manager North Life Sciences
Job description
Our client is a leading medical and scientific distribution company focused on delivering innovative, value-added solutions to the UK market that now requires a Territory Manager for the North of the UK to join their Life Sciences team. The Life Sciences team specializes in providing complete laboratory solutions to the Pharma, Academia, and Food-Testing industries, representing top global manufacturers of equipment and consumables.
As a Territory Manager for the Northern Territory, you will play a key role in driving the growth and retention of business within your region. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with both existing and new clients, promoting products and solutions, and achieving sales targets. This is a field-based role with 50-75% travel, where you will work closely with customers on product demos, trials, and face-to-face meetings. You will collaborate with the Life Science Team Leader and Marketing to ensure that the value-add message is effectively communicated across your territory. The role offers the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of the Life Sciences industry while developing your career in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
Please note that due to the territory covered, candidates must live North of Birmingham.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Business Development & Account Management:
Manage and grow existing accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities within the Northern Territory.
Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets and grow market share across the Pharma, Academia, and Food-Testing industries.
Conduct regular customer visits, product demonstrations, and trials, ensuring strong client engagement and satisfaction.
Customer Engagement & Support:
Provide technical training and support to customers, addressing product-specific queries and offering solutions that align with their needs.
Maintain ongoing communication with customers, providing both remote and onsite support to ensure exceptional service and client satisfaction.
Actively participate in industry exhibitions, workshops, and events, representing the company and showcasing its products.
Collaboration & Communication:
Provide regular reports on territory performance, customer feedback, and market insights to the Life Science Team Leader.
Work closely with the Marketing team to reinforce the value-add message within your territory, contributing to the go-to-market strategy for new products and solutions.
Collaborate with internal technical and engineering teams to address customer requirements and ensure successful product delivery.
Cross-Functional Engagement:
Work with cross-functional teams on product launches and customer solutions.
Ensure proper handling and documentation of customer complaints, adhering to the quality management processes.
Previous Experience/Qualifications:
Proven experience in a sales, territory management, or account management role within Life Sciences, Pharma, Biotech, or related industries.
A strong understanding of laboratory practices and industry regulations is desirable.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proficiency in sales forecasting, and reporting.
Self-motivated and able to manage multiple accounts and projects independently.
A full UK driving license is required, with the ability to travel frequently within the Northern Territory (50-75% travel).
Must be located North of Birmingham due to the Territory covered.
Flexibility for occasional travel outside the territory for company events or special projects.
Additional Information:
Please note this is a full-time, permanent, remote role with core hours of Monday – Friday 9 am – 5 pm but flexibility is required for business travel.
